about

Ask the Woods' debut album was recorded in a tiny 1800's log cabin nestled in the woods of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Recorded in the company of a nesting pair of Great Horned Owls and their two owlets, one excited pack of coyotes, a very endearing flock of Tufted Titmice, four curious but shy Black Cap Chicadees and one mysterious and exceptionally acrobatic Flying Squirrel.

The songs were inspired by the spirits of the deciduous trees that surrounded the cabin making ephemeral appearances in the morning hours as well as the wild life that would call through the darkness at twilight. Instruments used on the recording include dobro, acoustic guitar, banjo, native flute, rain, floor tapping, jars of quinoa, electric guitar, human voice and lastly...dreaming.

Ask the Woods was formed as part of an agreement with the Earth to share the song of the woods and to help raise human awareness that the human life experience is more than a blind physical meandering by chance through this particular time space.
